Gros Morne, a UNESCO World
Heritage Site, is located on the west coast of the island of
Newfoundland in Atlantic Canada. We have landlocked fiords, ocean
cliffs, sandy beaches, serpentine barrens, and coastal lowlands. We
have long-range mountains; tablelands with ancient fossils such as
trilobites and some exposed rock strata are 1.25 billion years old.
Gros Morne National Park provides a rare example of the process of
continental drift, where deep ocean crust and the rocks of the earth
mantle lie exposed. We have lots to offer visitors in this area.
Whether it be hiking the vast mountain ranges, camping in
undisturbed nature, relaxing on the beach, taking boat tours or
photographing Newfoundland unique wildlife and scenery.
